Im wrting in concrn of unemployment. i worked a this pary store for nine years and never had a problem until it was sold . i quit feb of this year for he accused me of steaing 6.00 of lottery tickets. i told him to show me the tape and when we looked at the tape all it showed was me straighting up the tickets when i first opened the store and i told him thats what i was doing because on friday nights they set around playing lottery tickets. then i asked him if he honestly believed i stoled and he said yes and thats when i told him that i could not work for someone that couldnt trust me and i took my keys, and put them on the counter and walked out. i applied for unemployment and he is claiming i only worked 20 hrs a week and i worked 30 to 40 hrs. i had copied some of my time cards from before because he was ripping me off hours and sent them into U.E. but they are saying that is not enough proof. he would cash our checks and we never had a checkstub. when i recieved my W 2 in jan i question it and he told me it was the way i filled out my deductons was the reason it was a low amount on my W 2 I worked here 9 years and never had a problem and i didnt steal nothing . What can i do i deserve my unempoyment.
What rights do you have when you have won a grievance against an attorney. We sent her a registered letter requesting just the money we had invested and said that if she did not respond we would file with the small claims court and include any other costs we may be entitled to. Thanks, Tina
We had a lawyer rep us for a probate matter he was second lawyer we had because we fired first one because he was not representing us. This lawyer mailed me letters from a witness stating that she was angry about having to testify and demanding to be paid and expected payment within 10 days of testifying. Our lawyer mailed me copies of the letters she wrote and also asked on her emails that her number never be given out to anyone. He mailed me the letters along with her email address on them. I think they were trying to get me to contact this witness. Our lawyer sent us a letter telling us that we had to bring the money order to court the day of trial. On the morning of trial we gave the blank money order to our lawyer. After court break he pushed the money order over to me and told me to step out into the hall and give it to this witness after she testified. I immediately began to panic feeling that it didn’t feel right and felt like I was being set up to give this witness some type of bribe. The trial video will show me trying nervously to put the money order in my pocket. The witness would not testify saying that she wouldn’t be able to remember with out hospital records. Our lawyer should have known that and should have gotten the medical records for trial since it had been three years since this witness gave her deposition. After she was dismissed our lawyer immediately called me to the stand now I really started to panic what was I supposed to do he told me that I was supposed to step out in the hall and give her the money order. I asked for a break and went into the hall worrying because it didn’t feel right and felt like they were setting me up. I went into the restroom and did not give the money order to this witness. After court we gave the blank money or to our lawyer. We recently found out that the money order was made out to one of his family members trust fund. This money order was supposed to be paid to a witness who demanded payment. This is only one of the things that this lawyer did to us. Do we have any type of legal recourse that we can take against this man? I also know that only expert witnesses should be paid. She was not an expert witness. Is it legal for a lawyer to use intimidation on their client?
